Why are escape rooms so popular?

As of today, there are more than 3000 escape rooms all over the world, even in Israel new escape rooms are popping up like mushrooms.
The numbers in Israel speak (as of the writing of this article) of about 200 rooms. During the peak period, the number stood at 400, before the corona virus. Unfortunately, the corona epidemic hit the field financially, but fortunately the field is so popular that it is only a matter of time until more rooms are opened. As of the writing of this article, we are also building a new room in our escape room complex in Ashkelon and are planning a few more in the future. 🙂

Ok, so we understand that this is a popular field, but what makes them, the escape rooms so popular?

Well, the answer is quite obvious...

Most of us lead a lifestyle full of various occupations, find it difficult to find time for work, studies, child care, etc. Each of us has a routine full of chores that we have to deal with every day.
Escape rooms, on the other hand, allow us to get away from our daily routine, and experience what it's like to be someone else - a character in a movie or a book, for example, in another place.

The game usually lasts up to about an hour, but the unique and immersive experience of the escape rooms puts people into a completely different reality. Whether you are escaping from a prison in the Amazon forest, looking for a serial killer or money hidden in a safe, looking for treasure or the mysterious island of Atlantis, it is ultimately a reliable and exceptional experience that definitely adds some flavor to life.

Escape rooms are much more than simple computer games that take place in virtual reality. Instead of staring at a computer screen, we actually do something physical and take part in intellectually or physically challenging tasks, cooperate together with our sons or daughters, our friends, family, colleagues at work, in the army or at school...suddenly breaking routine and discovering something different while playing, By yourself or in the character of anyone who plays with you. The accumulation of experiences, dealing with tasks, fear, pressure and adrenaline strengthens the participants and a 60-minute experience often turns into a lifetime experience.

Another reason for the popularity of escape rooms is our inexhaustible love of games.
The act of playing the game and winning is accompanied by a feeling of reward and achievement. Take sports as an example. The desire to win is part of human nature. We enjoy sympathy and reward for our actions.

Escape rooms also satisfy the human instinct of curiosity. We are born curious, and it is in our blood to discover and solve mysteries. After solving the problem, we feel good about ourselves. Therefore, it is not surprising why many become "addicted" to escape rooms and return to solve more and more mysteries.

Escape rooms allow us to feel important and part of a team.
Teamwork, a sense of security, and unsolved mysteries are some of the things that attract people to come again and again to this unique attraction that manages to awaken something new in us every time. Some participants develop so much love for the field, develop great creativity and even build a room in their own style.
Escape rooms are good for everyone, regardless of gender, age, or background, and they don't require any particular knowledge or expertise, that's what makes it so successful and fun.

We also have cool escape rooms! Take a look, choose an adventure that intrigues you andOrder now  🙂
