How will you improve your chances of winning in an escape room?

How will you turn an escape room experience into a pastime that will make a day out with friends or family much more enjoyable?
We have some tips to help you improve your chances of winning the challenge.

Escape rooms are a team game. The real key to escaping is using strategies that will make your group work together in the smartest and most efficient way. Escape rooms can be very difficult and challenging even for the most experienced. If you are not aware of the recommended methods for escaping from the room, you can read about these methods in the following article.

First of all a briefing

Before each escape room there is a briefing and it is very important to pay attention to the explanations in the briefing. The briefing gives you clear instructions that can save you from misunderstandings and wasting unnecessary time. Each escape room has different gameplay, in some rooms the ceiling for example is not part of the game, in other rooms the floor is not part of the game. Some rooms require the use of objects more than once, or for example the option to go back compared to rooms that only move forward. Another example could be using a certain device you've never seen before that was designed specifically for you in the game and you have to figure out how to use it. It is very, very important to pay attention to the briefing before the game. Not only for safety instructions and maintaining the room such as not using force on the objects, but also to help you make the experience more successful.

communication

It's easy to walk into the escape room and forget that you have a whole team to help you beat the challenge. The atmosphere, the setting, the music, the time pressure, everything at the same time is overwhelming and that is exactly why you must not disperse and maintain contact with your team. Two brains are better than one, so use as many of them as you can! If you find a clue, be sure to pass it on to the rest of the group. It is very possible that they have other clues that connect to your clue and together you can solve and move forward.

Look for clues at a non-standard height

The escape rooms are becoming more and more sophisticated every year, and each room has its own rules. There can be illusions, effects, hidden doors, vaults, and other deceptively hidden clues throughout Place. This means that it is especially important to take a good look at your surroundings. There is more than meets the eye so turn things around, bend down very low or try to look higher than your eye level and you might find the hidden clues. Just don't go crazy with it. If it is too complicated or requires the use of force - this is not the right way.

Share your team

You usually only have 60 or 90 minutes in an escape room, so efficient use of your resources is extremely important. What are the most valuable resources in an escape room? members of the group.

Make the team more efficient by avoiding any duplication of work. The team members have to spread around the room and look for clues and different puzzles to solve. If several people spend too much time in certain parts of the room, you may be missing other important cues.

Don't be afraid to use hints

While it is an extremely impressive feat to complete an escape room with zero help from clues, it is highly unlikely, especially in complex escape rooms. In almost every escape room game, your group will reach a point where you don't know how to proceed and the clues can help you progress.

In the end, you came to enjoy and have a one-time and extraordinary experience, as long as you follow these tips and cooperate, you will succeed in the task.

Good luck! 🙂
